2nd presentation

Tideway are constructing a tunnel from Acton in West London to Abbey Mills in the east. When complete the tunnel will help eliminate more than 39 million tonnes of untreated sewage entering the tidal River Thames every year. The tunnel is part of a wider programme of improvement works by Thames Water, called the London Tideway Improvements. With the Thames Tideway Tunnel in place the system will discharge only 4 times in a typical year. When completed, alongside the Lee Tunnel it will have a storage capacity of 1.6m cubic metres, the equivalent of 600 Olympic-size swimming pools. This presentation highlights the innovative work some of Tideway’s Tier 1 Contractors are undertaking using BIM to develop Health & Safety awareness.

David is the BIM Manager at Tideway responsible for the delivery of BIM data by their Tier 1 Contractors. David has over 30 years experience in the AEC industry. Some past achievements include being one of the founding partners of ArcDox, the first specialist BIM consultancy practice in Ireland, and a founder of Revit Users Ireland Group (RUIG).

His role at Tideway is to provide coordination and development of the BIM functions and processes for the Thames Tideway Tunnel project, and coordinate and manage the linkages between CAD, GIS, Document Control and other information sources associated with the Contractors.
