32nd LRUG Meeting

The aspiration for this evenings event was to present How Revit is used in the Landscape Profession. It was arranged by Carl Collins to be presented by a mix of people from Landscape Institute, Landscape Architects, Contractors and academics (BIM Academy) and would cover the whole workflow, from design to operations.

Unfortunately one by one the presenters backed out until we were left with one, Tim Calnan from CS Design Software Ltd from the original 5-6 who had committed to present.

Tim presented CSArtisanRV and showed the National Plant Specification database connecting into Revit to give real plant data and demonstrate growth over time within the Revit model. 

Alan Wooldridge jumped in at the last minute to present a light civil engineering slope stability landscaping scheme dating back to 2011 that he undertook when working for Scott White and Hookins.

31st LRUG Meeting

Stephen Hamil, Director of Design and Innovation at NBS, presented the BIM Toolkit to LRUG Members, Until I can get the meeting footage uploaded below is a video released by the NBS on YouTube. The LRUG Video also has a Q&A Session with the members.

First Presentation of the evening was made by Krigh Bachmann~ BIM Manager Pollard Thomas Edwards (PTE) on Revit Shared Coordinate and Project Set-up using OS Grid Data

Second Presentation of the evening was by excitech looking for feedback from LRUG members on a possible new product for the UK Market. This was a closed session and no Audio or Video was taken.

Taking on the M.E.P. drawing packages they provide spatially  coordinated B.I.M. models from design stage to installation. Through this he saw a need for content creation and  runs RevitMEPstore.com which specialise in manufacturer specific Revit content.
