The sponsor of our next event is Kinship and the first presentation will be from Matt Olsen:

Managing Revit Materials with Kinship

Materials in Revit are essential for Architects, Engineers and other AEC stakeholders. They're used in 3D visualisation, drawing production, environmental analysis and more. Yet, they are also a major pain to create, manage and share.
Most offices put significant effort into crafting good-looking materials. But unlike other content types, materials are locked within models and family files, making it exceedingly difficult to leverage that work across a firm and over time.
In this session, Matt will take you on a quick tour of key features of Revit materials and then demonstrate how Kinship’s latest release makes managing materials painless. Now you can easily capture materials from projects, organize them using classes, preview and load them through the Kinship add-in or our revamped web interface, and say goodbye to missing image files forever! You’ll see how Kinship helps you to build, manage and share a company-wide material library without the hassle and bottlenecks that typically plague materials within Revit.

Presenter – Matt Olsen

Matt is a Product Manager at Kinship, joining the team after 11 years as Associate and BIM Lead at Allies and Morrison Architects in London. Since joining he’s been working on Kinship's new materials release, bringing close knowledge of how materials in Revit are used in architectural project delivery.

Building pyRevit Tools with AI - From Zero to Toolbar Using Claude Code

AI coding tools are getting better, but without the right context they will confidently produce code that looks correct but fails at runtime.

In this session, James will show how to set up Claude Code as the ultimate pyRevit development environment - with a curated knowledge base, specialised agents, and live documentation via Context7 MCP - so that AI-generated tools actually run first time. He will demonstrate the difference between vanilla AI output and context-aware output with a side-by-side comparison, then build pyRevit tools live using autonomous coding agents that keep working until the job is done.

Presenter - James Gray

James is Associate Partner and Head of BIM at Squire & Partners, where he has worked for over a decade specialising in Revit, BIM, information management, software development, and AI.

He also runs AUTOM8LABS, building custom AI solutions, Revit add-ins, and automation tools for the AEC industry. James recently presented at Innovate2BUILD, demonstrating AI controlling Revit through natural language.
