LRUG Meeting Wednesday 11th September 2024

I would like to invite you to the next LRUG meeting in collaboration with the Society of Digital Engineers (SDE), on Wednesday 11/09/2024 at the Buro Happold London office at 18:00.

The address is:
Levels 5-8, The Featherstone Building
66 City Road
London
EC1Y 2AL

Our event is free to attend; we have 3 interesting talks lined up, plus our legendary networking over pizzas and drinks. Spaces are limited, so please take your ticket asap.

Agenda (talks will be from approximately 18:15-2000):

  • What next after the final Grenfell report? A short presentation followed by a chance to put your questions to our panel (please send these to me Michael.Bartyzel@Burohappold.com)
  • SDE - Why join? The presentation will consist of an update on the benefits of joining the SDE and exciting news regarding accreditation pathways, followed by a question and answer session. SDE are kindly supplying the refreshments and food and committee members will also be available to take questions before and after the presentation.
  • Mike Turpin - Model QA and auditing, how should we do it? Is it needed? What should be checked? Staying ahead of Revit project challenges and ensuring optimal performance is crucial. By tapping into live data from your Revit models BIM Audit (Bimaudit.co.uk) offers real-time insights into the health of your projects. Eliminating the post-project assessments—our live data audits empower you to take immediate action, enhance project efficiency, and ultimately save time and resources. In this session, we want to hear from you what is important when it comes to model auditing. Are there different requirements for different project types and different disciplines or is there a baseline minimum requirement to define good practice for a Revit model?

Together we’ll learn, network, and have excellent conversation.

I look forward to seeing you there,

Next LRUG Meeting 24th April 2024

Yes since the pandemic the six bi-monthly meetings annually have not happened, we have had virtual meetings and then gradually we had a combination of physical and virtual meetings.

LRUG started in March 2010 and we held meeting at various venues in that first year, but we settle down and made Buro Happold's Newman Street  offices the home for our meetings. However in January this year they decided to move their offices and we have been waiting for that to happen and now they are nearly settled in their new offices it's time to get the meetings happening again.

The new address for Buro Happold London is 5th to 8th floors of The Featherstone Building, a short distance from Old Street and Liverpool St underground stations and opposite the iconic White Collar Factory campus.

Report to reception on the ground floor they will direct you to the elevators and tell you to report to Buro Happold's reception on the 5th Floor. They will sign you in and direct you to the meeting room.

At the moment only a small meeting room is available, so should your find that you can not attend after getting on the attendance list please let Michael know so he can let the next person on the waiting list know and take you place.

The presentations for LRUG's 57th Meeting will be:-
